SIMSOL Software and Craftsman Book Company have enjoyed a mutually beneficial business arrangement since 1995. Since that time Simsol Software has been a licensee of Craftsman data in good standing with our company.
SIMSOL, in its continuing commitment to the insurance adjusting and insurance repair industries, provides adjusters, appraisers and restoration contractors with quarterly cost data updates utilizing Craftsman data as one source for their pricing research.
SIMSOL currently has access to several Craftsman publications. SIMSOL combines Craftsman’s researched labor rates, productivities and localized 5-digit area location factors with their in-house construction cost research and analysis to produce cost databases specifically designed for the estimation of property insurance claims. This mixture of time-tested construction cost data, in-house research and actual claims adjustment and payment feedback allows SIMSOL to provide the insurance industry with accurate and competitive restoration cost databases for estimating insurance claims.
The multi-faceted design and methodology of the SIMSOL cost databases should not be confused with the pricing guidelines which were published by the National Flood Insurance Program. SIMSOL was not involved in the creation of these guidelines.
In the hands of a professional estimator, the SIMSOL cost databases, when combined with accurate scopes of damages for structural restoration and reconstruction, produce competitive estimates for use in the insurance claims industry. The final cost of repair is ultimately determined by multiple factors including negotiations among all of the interested parties involved, the original design and condition of the specific structure to be repaired, local and state building codes and current market conditions in addition to added consideration for the individual insurance policy coverages, limitations and exclusions.
